Pick your own pumpkins this spooky season with great pumpkin patches surrounding Gainsborough to make a great day out for all the family.

From the nobbliest and bobbliest, to the perfectly formed. Which will you choose?

Here’s a round-up of the pumpkin patches you can visit this month. Take a closer look as some have some great activities on offer too.

1. Blyton Ice Cream

94 High Street, Blyton, Gainsborough, DN21 3LA

Open 30 September to 31 October

Pick Your Own Pumpkin at Blyton Ice Cream, plus make your own Ice Cream Sundae! Make it a day out and carve your pumpkins on site, add a children’s meal for just £3 or a special Halloween Ice Cream cup (£3).

2. Peacan’s Pumpkin Patch

Bransby Horses, Bransby, Lincoln, LN1 2PH

Open Wednesday 4 to Sunday 8, Wednesday 11 to Sunday 15, Wednesday 18 to Sunday 29 October

Support Bransby’s rescued horses, ponies, donkeys and mules this Halloween by picking your very own pumpkin from Pecan’s Pumpkin Patch. You can also enjoy walks around the site, meet the resident equines, plus kids can enjoy the play park – all with free admission. There is also a visitor centre and cafe open for breakfast and lunch, plus delicious homemade cakes.

3. PYO Pumpkins at Williamson’s Farm Shop

Thonock Lane Farm, Gainsborough, DN21 3HP

Open Saturday 30 September, Sunday 1 October, Saturday 7 to Sunday 8 October, Saturday 14 to Sunday 15 October and Saturday 21 to Sunday 22 October.

Williamson’s Farm Shop, on the outskirts of Gainsborough, is a family run farm with a farm shop selling seasonal fruit and veg, and lots of their own home-grown potatoes! Visit this October to pick your own pumpkins grown right there on the farm.

4. Halloween Maize Maze and Pumpkin Patch

Open Saturday 7 to Sunday 8 October, Saturday 14 to 15 October and Saturday 21 to 31 October

Have you got what it takes to enroll at Monster’s High?! Conquer the Halloween Maze, pick your own pumpkin and carve it on site! For littler legs, we have our two mini mazes; complete a Ghost Hunt and find the Halloween Witch and her friends!

All tickets include entry to their Pumpkin Patch where you can pick your own pumpkins and carve on site if you wish, leaving us with the ghastly insides! Pay for what you pick, price is dependent on size!

5. PYO Pumpkins at Pumpkin Bumpkins

Cliff Road, Spridlington, Market Rasen, LN8 2DN

Open Saturday 7 to Sunday 8 October, Saturday 14 to 15 October and Saturday 21 to Saturday 28 October

Pumpkin Bumpkins at Spridlington, 9 miles north of Lincoln, promises to be the perfect autumnal adventure for the whole family. Growing over 12 different varieties, they offer a huge range of pumpkin shapes, sizes and colours. Wheelbarrows will be on hand to make your picking experience all the easier, plus coffee, crepes and wood fired pizzas which will be available to buy on the day.

6. Daytime Pumpkin Festival

Rand Farm Park, Rand, Market Rasen, LN8 5NJ

Open Saturday 7 to Sunday 8 October, Saturday 14 to Sunday 15 October and Saturday 21 to Sunday 29 October.

With live actor entertainment, two undercover eateries and a hot drinks station, it’s going to be a ‘gourd’-geous day out. Each paying child will also receive a free standard sized. Admission also includes all your usual activities on the farm including meeting the animals on the farm, play areas, demonstrations and more!

7. Toddler Pumpkin Festival

Rand Farm Park, Rand, Market Rasen, LN8 5NJ

Monday 9 to Friday 13, Monday 16 to Friday 20, Monday 30 to Tuesday 31 October

Enjoy a great day out at Rand Farm Park and pick your own pumpkin in the pumpkin patch, take a tractor ride, meet the animals on the farm, bottle feed a calf, and conquer our indoor and outdoor play areas.

8.  Night Time Pumpkin Festival

Sunday 21 to Sunday 29 October

Family night or date night, whatever your plans this October, Rand Farm Park’s Night Time Pumpkin Festival will tick all your boxes. PYO pumpkin under the glistening moon and festive lighting, meet the animals on the farm and conquer the indoor play areas. Settle in the pumpkin patch with a bite to eat, licensed bar whilst enjoying live music and actor entertainment. Plus, every paying child recieves a free standard sized pumpkin!

9. PYO Pumpkins at Lings Farm

Croxby Top, Caistor, Market Rasen, LN7 6BN

Open 14 to 15 October, 21 to 29 October and 30 to 31 October

Located at Croxby, near Caistor, Lings Farm is the perfect place to pick your own pumpkins ahead of the spooky season. They have over 5000 different pumpkins to choose from: white ones, green ones, and of course, classic orange!

After you’ve picked your pumpkins, take some time to explore the spooky woodland at Lings Farm for the ultimate autumnal outing.

10. PYO Pumpkin at Hall Farm Park

Saturday 14 & Sunday 15 October, week commencing 16 October (excl. Wednesday) and Saturday 21 to Monday 30 October

Hall Farm Park near South Kelsey is a small family run farm park where you can meet their friendly animals, explore the play areas and sample delicious local produce in the cafe.

During October you can come pick your own pumpkin between 11am & 3.30pm (11am to 12pm week commencing 16 October). Please note an access to the pumpkin patch is only available with farm admission.

11. Night Time Pumpkin Picking

Saturday 21 October and Friday 27 October

Visit Pumpkin Bumpkins for a PYO event with a twist! Two exclusive evenings of night picking are available to book where you will be entertained by a fire performer under the moonlit sky, plus food and drink, and a bar for the grown ups!
