Illuminate 2018 took place on Wednesday 21 November 2018 and included a digital film projected onto the walls of Gainsborough Old Hall, designed by filmmakers Electric Egg to include stained-glass style panels by pupils from Parish Church Primary School, and made by possible through Gainsborough’s relationship with Boston’s Illuminate organisers, ‘Transported’.
Children from the Performing Arts Club St John’s led the parade, each carrying ship-style lanterns they made for the event, and performing a song in the Market Square.
This year’s event was made possible without the combination of funding and support from Arts Council England, West Lindsey District Council, Gainsborough Town Council, Gainsborough Old Hall, Bassetlaw Christian Heritage and the wonderful professional artists, schools and community groups including the Scouts and Guides.
