Farmers Jane and Terry Tomlinson are celebrating after Redhill Farm Free Range Pork was crowned the Great Food Club ‘Producer of the Year’ for the second year running.
Judges noted that ‘the words “integrity” and “food production” are unfortunately seldom put together. Redhill Farm however, personify integrity. For the past 20 years they have based their whole ethos around very high levels of animal welfare. And this leads to fabulously good pork.’
A national organisation celebrating the best independent food and drink, Great Food Club selects businesses to join based on merit and recommendation and operates a rigorous auditing and judging process for their awards.
Jane and Terry were particularly delighted that judges highlighted the value for money offered by Redhill Farm produce by emphasising ‘the reasonable price point of all the produce…..intended to make high quality food more accessible. It is refreshing to see a producer putting animal welfare, food quality and people before profit.’
The Redhill Farm Shop in the Bailgate, Lincoln is also a finalist in the Guild of Fine Food’s 2019 Shop of the Year Awards which recognise excellence in independent retail.
Jane comments “For small retailers such as ourselves it is becoming harder to stand out from the crowd so winning awards such as these is invaluable.”
Redhill Farm produce is available online, from the Shop on the Farm near Gainsborough and the Shop in the Bailgate in Lincoln’s cathedral quarter.
