Gainsborough is home to one of England’s best preserved medieval manor houses – Gainsborough Old Hall. It’s open Monday to Friday, 10am to 5pm and weekends, 11am to 5pm. You can also discover the history of Gainsborough at Gainsborough Heritage Centre open Tuesdays and Saturdays, 10am to 4pm and Sundays, 11am to 4pm.
Food and drink
Wine and dine your significant other with a number of great places to eat in Gainsborough. Enjoy a romantic meal for two for £30 per person at the Clock House Café and Bistro or go Italian at Prezzo. You can also enjoy fine dining at Thonock Park with a four course meal for only £30pp or £75pp if you book one of their luxury boutique guest rooms. If you prefer to stay in, you’ll find some of the best quality produce at Red Hill Farm Shop just outside Gainsborough.
