A brand new butchers is set to open on Market Street in Gainsborough in the newly refurbished shop units delivered by Dransfield Properties and West Lindsey District Council.
This is the second unit to open up on Market Street this year, after the Bamboo Nail Spa, located next to the brand new Travelodge Hotel opened last month.
The Meat Storr headed up by Michael Storr and Natalie Powell from Gainsborough is set to open to the public on Saturday 16th February.
The pair decided to take the plunge together and start up their own business due to Michael’s successes during his time at Crawshaws.
Michael has worked as a Butcher in Gainsborough and surrounding areas for 22 years where he has built up a loyal customer base and wealth of knowledge in the industry.
The new butchers shop will offer an extensive range of hot food including roast joints and chickens, a range of hot sandwiches including hand carved beef and pork and a variety of hot take away meals.
There will also be a fresh butchery meat selection which will include “ready to cook” meals made with fresh ingredients, personalised meat cutting service to suit all requirements and quality “mix and match” meat packs for convenience.
There will even be a range of exotic meats, bringing something completely new to the area.
Co-Owner Michael Storr said: “We are excited to start our new business venture here in Gainsborough, in the newly refurbished shop unit which looks absolutely beautiful. We have received so much encouragement to open our own shop and we can’t wait to open the doors.
Our aim is to use locally sourced, quality products at competitive prices to suit all budgets.”
The Meat Storr is located on Market Street in the town centre and is part of a unique joint venture regeneration project between the award winning property developers Dransfield Properties and West Lindsey District Council.
Dransfield Properties’ Estates Surveyor, Alisdair Gillespie, said: “We are delighted to welcome Michael and Natalie to their new premises on Market Street and we hope everyone agrees that they will make a great addition to the retail line up in the town.”
Cllr Sheila Bibb, Chairman of the Prosperous Communities Committee at the Council welcomed the news. She said: “It is great to see another new businesses opening in the town and playing a vital role in helping with the towns regeneration programme.
“This is a wonderful story of how a store closure in the town centre has led to a new start up business and I wish them all the very best.”
