Gainsborough’s popular monthly Farmers’ and Craft Market is being re-launched this month – with a brand new location and a great line up of local traders.
The market will have a fresh new look and brand as well as a new location on Market Street in Gainsborough where it will be held on the second Saturday of every month. The first market in the new location will be on Saturday 13th April.
The Gainsborough Farmers’ Market has been located at Marshall’s Yard since 2008 with a strong line up of local producers.
Now the Marshall’s Yard team are working with the West Lindsey District Council on the relocation of the new market and will continue to manage the monthly event, which they’re confident will continue to grow in its new Market Street location.
Long standing traders including Pickles Preserves and the award winning Redhill Farm have welcomed the move to Market Street. Other producers who will be at next month’s new look Farmers’ and Craft Market include Good With Wood, Jane Lee Art, Special Edition Chocolate, The Little Cottage Candle Co. and With Love From Lincolnshire.
New traders, Lincolnshire Poacher Cheese and Mount Pleasant Windmill have re-joined the line-up returning to Gainsborough once again for the exciting re-launch.
A regular programme of entertainment will also feature at the monthly market as well as special seasonal themes.
In April this will be kicked off with a visit from Peter Rabbit, free face painting and live music from Lewis Canner.
The relaunched market will be run in partnership with Discover Gainsborough, West Lindsey District Council and the Marshall’s Yard team and will help to create activity and link different parts of the town. It will also support and strengthen the weekly market in Gainsborough which takes place every Tuesday and Saturday.
Market Street has undergone a major programme of investment in recent months, including the new Travelodge Hotel, Roseway Car Park and a programme of shop front improvements which are attracting new businesses to this part of the town.
Alison Shipperbottom, centre manager at Marshall’s Yard said: “This is a really exciting move for the town’s Farmers’ and Craft Market and we’re really pleased to be working with great local partners on delivering a really strong market offer in its new location.
“We’ll be working to attract new visitors as well as our regular market shoppers, and on getting the message out about the new location for the market.”
Ady Selby Strategic Manager Services from West Lindsey District Council added: “We are delighted to be working with the team from Marshall’s Yard on relocating the Farmers’ and Craft Market to Gainsborough’s historic Market Street.
Our markets are an asset to the town and it’s great to be working in partnership to build on the success of the monthly Farmers’ and Craft Market. This will help create better connectivity between the Market Place, The Roseway Quarter, the Lidl store and Marshall’s Yard.”
